Our first holiday to Malgrat De Mar with husband and 17 year old daughter. Lovely to see she was not the only youngster on the coach. The coach journey down to Stop 24 went smoothly, arrived in time for the usual salt and pepper chicken from the take away. We didn’t really have to wait long before boarding our holiday coach, greeted by very jolly George and new driver Jamie. We were on the express trip so it’s straight down to Spain no stop over which we do prefer, unfortunately I was suffering with back pain and sciatica, so this journey was going to be a task for me. George is a very knowledgeable of Malgrat de Mar and was full of information of the area, hotel and the local history. New driver Jamie did well with his driving skills and avoided any collision when a car cut in front of the coach on our way - well done you. On arrival to the hotel the coach parks around corner so not too far to wheel cases, both drivers assisted with those that required help. Hotel is gorgeous and was informed by George that it had been updated, our rooms were lovely we had a view of the poolside and daughter has the spa side. First night at hotel was good mixing with all on the coach, including the drivers as the following day was a rest day for everyone after long trip. We found the food at the hotel very nice, plenty of choice, we would definitely do this trip again. We used the spa which was great for me with my back problem that had progressed through the week. Due to the heat and my back we only did the trip to Besalu as it was going be a land train around the area, thoughtful Jamie had bought a pillow along for me to use which I was really appreciative of, but unfortunately the land train broke down, George was on hand to guide us around the area pointing of places of interest. This was a lovely holiday albeit my back problem, which we would’ve done more exploring if I was better. The journey back for me was a struggle but Jamie on hand again with the pillow to aid my comfort. We would definitely recommend this holiday to anyone the resort and hotel area both lovely and we could not fault anything. A big thank you to both drivers for all their information and help throughout this trip, best drivers so far out of all our Shearing trips.

We were very disappointed with this holiday due to the terrible coach journey to our destination. The coach was not a Shearings coach (no logo on coach or drivers uniforms). The coach had no air conditioning but just climate control which was really just recycled air going around. The coach became very hot and uncomfortable many times throughout the long journey. We believed we would be on an air conditioned coach with personal air vents to adjust to our own requirements. The seats were very uncomfortable with no arm rests, foot rests, no USB ports, limited leg room and limited reclining seats - totally unsuitable for a long, overnight journey. Apart from the ferry crossing, the longest stop was around 45 minutes, not really long enough to have a decent meal. We got on the coach at Folkestone 12-12.30 and finally arrived at our destination hotel in Malgrat at 10.00am the following morning. This was a very long journey to only have quick bathroom stops and limited meals. George, one of the drivers only offered a hot drink at one stop! George told us there was a toilet on the bus but it was to be used "only in an emergency"!! This is not what your brochure states. George had a very poor, extremely limited knowledge of any sights/interesting facts along the journey. He also kept giving out wrong information on destination times. The one thing George kept telling us was "you get what you pay for!" This was not a cheap holiday and when we eventually reached our hotel, we were left feeling dirty, dishevelled, disappointed and extremely frustrated. In fact, we were so disheartened that we couldn't face the return journey only 6 days later so we booked a flight home as did at least one other couple. Shearings have not accepted any responsibility for what happened to us. We would NEVER go on a Shearings trip again! Beware!
